Welcome to Decatur Middle School.

Hello, My name is Dewayne Tamplen and I am the principal of Decatur Middle School. I am a graduate of West Texas A&M University and have my Master's and Superintendent certification. I have been a teacher (science), assistant principal, and principal. As the leader of our campus I strive to build leaders within our staff and students. These leaders make Decatur Middle School an outstanding campus that is innovative and continually strives for excellence for all students. I am extremely proud of our accomplishments, campus culture, and how our staff is preparing our students for the future.

 

I have been married to the same beautiful red headed 4th grade teacher for 24 years. I have two wonderful children, Tyler and Krista. Tyler is a Sophomore at Texas A&M where he is currently majoring in business. Krista is a Junior at Decatur High School, is an Eagle Doll, and also plans on attending Texas A&M.
