The Decatur Independent School District is located located 45
minutes northwest of Fort Worth, Texas in the small town of Decatur in Wise County. DISD is a
designated 4A school that serves approximately 3,000 children and employs 426 teachers,
administrators and staff. The Eagles
begin to soar with pride in Decatur in one of our three flourishing elementary
schools: Carson, Rann and Young. Our
middle school, McCarroll, has two separate campuses; one serving our sixth
grade and a separate building for our seventh and eighth grade students. Housed on top of one of the highest
points in Decatur is Decatur High School.
Each high school class has roughly 200 students per grade. A school board of seven elected members
governs the school district and Rod Townsend is the superintendent.
