A press conference was held May 20th announcing an agreement reached with Texas Educational Service Centers discontinuing the use and production of CSCOPE lesson plans. All lesson plans will be removed from the CSCOPE website on August 31, 2013. Alignment and assessment documents will remain in place. Click on the headline above for further information.
Andie Elizabeth Keller was honored as Decatur High School's 2013 Valedictorian. Andie is the daughter of Martin and Sheryl Keller. Andie will be attending Texas A&M. NOT PICTURED Hannah Aleece Hubbard was honored as the DHS 2013 Salutatorian. Hannah is the daughter of James and Liz Hubbard. Hannah will be attending Texas A&M as well.
The Miles Foundation in Fort Worth, Texas announced tonight they are providing $410,000 in funding to impact science and math instruction in Decatur ISD and Wise County.
The Decatur High School Golf Team was honored by the Board of Trustees on Thursday, May 16, 2013 for their achievements this year including a trip to the State Golf Tournament where they earned a fifth place finish.
Jeff Elder and Wade Watson were sworn in tonight as member of the Decatur ISD Board of Trustees. This is Mr. Elder's second term on the Board and Mr. Watson's first.

Teachers touch the lives of our children in countless ways. The extent of their impact on students’ lives is endless. The Decatur ISD Education Foundation is continuing its DISD Foundation Award for teachers. This program will enable parents and students to honor those outstanding teachers from your child’s current or past school years through a donation to the Education Foundation.
Here is the approved calendar for the 2013-2014 school year. The first day of school will be Monday, August 26. Teachers will return on Monday, August 19. The week of August 12th has been set aside for new teacher orientation. The Thanksgiving Holiday will begin with early release on Tuesday, November 26th. Christmas Holidays begin with an early release on Friday, December 20th. Spring Break is the week of March 10th. The last day of school is June 5, 2014.
