Dual Credit Classes

  • Dual Credit classes are offered at DHS through our partnership with Weatherford College Wise County.

The purpose of this information is to give you some updates regarding Dual Credit courses for the 2021-2022 school year.   In order to officially get registered for a Dual Credit course through Weatherford College, there are a few steps that need to be taken.  This is specifically directed at students that are going to be taking a Dual Credit course for the first time next year.  If you are currently in a Dual Credit course, More information will be sent out on Dual Credit registration through Weatherford once its received.  At this time, WC has communicated that registration for currently Dual Credit students will begin in late April.  More details to come on that process.  Please look at the third page of the attachment if you are interested in applying for the Dual Credit grant/scholarship.

For all students that will be taking a Dual Credit course for the first time next year, please read the information below and the attached documents to complete the requirements in order to be able to register once registration is open with WC.

The attached documents lay out the steps very clearly, however we know this is an overwhelming time, so we wanted to make sure you know where to turn if you have questions.  All new to Dual Credit students will need to:

    1. Apply to Weatherford College as a Dual Credit student through ApplyTexas
    2. Complete the TSIA2 (a required college entrance exam to make sure students are ready for a college level course.  TSIA2 testing will begin at Decatur High School in April. Fill out the following link to sign up for TSIA2 Testing  https://forms.gle/kxPM7Dg2pLyv17ZK8
    1. Register for Dual Credit course/s once we get specific registration dates and instructions from WC in the near future.

The goal is to have all students interested in taking a Dual Credit class next year to get their WC application complete and set up a TSIA2 testing time by the end of April (if possible).  Depending on how the TSIA2 testing process goes, it may take a little longer to get the TSIA2 complete.

If you have additional questions, reach out to Mrs. Thomas or your counselor.
