    Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship Application

    In order to qualify for a Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo scholarship, all minimum requirements must be met. All applicants must meet the eligibility requirements below:

    Texas Farm Bureau devotes a large amount of resources towards youth programs and scholarships.     • Funded by gifts to the WC Foundation, the college awarded more than $370,000 in scholarship funds last year, and the foundation is prepared to offer even more to students who take the time to apply for the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semesters.
    • The priority application deadline is March 25 and the final deadline is June 1.
    • The foundation and the Financial Aid Office utilize a user-friendly online application system where students apply one time for the year. The system will match students with scholarships that fit them according to various criteria. Students are evaluated based on a number of factors including academic standing, extracurricular activities/community service, work ethic and other factors.
    • Students must have applied to the college and received a college ID number and email address prior to applying for scholarships.

    • The Charles Butt Scholarship supports promising students to enter the teaching profession. Charles Butt Scholarship recipients are passionate aspiring educators seeking to make a difference for public school students. 
    • The scholarship is open to applicants who believe in the importance of public education, are leaders in their communities, and reflect the diversity of the state of Texas.     DHS Football Booster Scholarship

     

    1. Completed a minimum of three semesters at DHS and attained at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA on all high school work through the first semester of the senior year.
    2. Lettered at least once in Varsity Football.
    3. Taken the ACT or SAT.
    4. Must have participated in varsity football at DHS during their senior year and be eligible for graduation in the 2021-2022 school year.
    5. After selection of recipient and before presentation of the scholarship, if the recipient should break any rule of Decatur ISD which requires disciplinary action and upon the vote of the majority of the members of the Scholarship Selection Committee, such scholarship recipient shall be withdrawn and awarded to the candidate with the next highest point total.
    6. Applications must be submitted by April 15, 2022
    7. Applicant must plan to be enrolled full-time in a college, university or technical institute.
