PURA VIDA, MÄE!
My name is Tom Warrick (Sr. Tomás) and I will be joining the Decatur LOTE Department this year. I am VERY excited. My goal has been for 22 years to make students interested and excited about language learning. I am not a native language-learner and it has taken me YEARS to reach the level that I am at today. However, this has allowed me to see where students are struggling because...well, I likely struggled with those same concepts as well and I have developed many tools/tricks to help students overcome those obstacles. I'm here to help and make students grow. I'm glad your student will be joining me on this adventure! Vámanos!

After-school tutoring by Appt.
As I said above, I've been a teacher for 22 year with stints in Little Elm and Krum. I have taught the whole range -- from Spanish 1 through Spanish 5 AP Literature. In both districts, I started and grew the AP programs to great success. My wife, daughter -- a Senior at Denton High School and part of the ROTC program -- and I are proud "Dentonites" and have been living there since 1993. I studied and lived in both Mexico and Costa Rica during my younger years, and it was in those places where I REALLY gained my love of Spanish. I also travel with students there regularly -- check the photo gallery. I am a fanatic of Spanish music, telenovelas, literature and movies. I am also an active alumni of Denton Rugby (17 years playing / 8 watching) and part of Denton's Day of the Dead Festival (COFFIN RACES!!!).
