Hello! My name is Danielle Blair and I have a passion for teaching and coaching. I will be teaching Anatomy and Physiology and Advance Animal Science this year along with coaching Middle School Tennis and Assistant Tennis Coach at the High School. I am excited about providing an opportunity for continual growth and learning in the classroom and on the court! In our competitive society it is important not only to receive a top notch education, but to have a teacher who is aware of and sensitive to the student’s / athlete's individual needs. I grew up in Colleyville and played volleyball and basketball at Grapevine High School. I earned an academic scholarship to McMurry University in Abilene, where I played both volleyball and tennis. On the volleyball court I was a captain for 3 years and was awarded MVP for 2 years. I am in the National Top 20 NCAA for All Time Dig Average and set several records for McMurry and the American Southwest Conference (ASC). I found success on the tennis court as well earning a conference championship both in singles and in doubles. I received the MVP award for tennis in 2004 and 2005. The ASC awarded me with Female Athlete of the Year in 2004. In May 2005, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and went through the pre-medical program. I have spent the last 11 years teaching PreAP Biology and Anatomy Physiology at Colleyville Heritage High School (CHHS). I also coached volleyball at CHHS along with tennis and golf. Before CHHS I taught PreAP biology and Anatomy and Physiology at Coppell High School.
I recently got married to Brian Blair and together we are raising four incredible kids: Brooklyn (10), Reed (8), Twins - Emma and Eva(5). I am also a licensed massage therapist and continue to practice in my spare time. Starting in November I will continue my love of volleyball and be coaching a club team with Texas Pistols. In February I look foward to working with the athelets at McCarroll Middle School as I have the privelage to coach Middle School Tennis!
Looking forward to a fun adventure at Decatur High School and blessed to be a part of The Eagle Family!
