Our "Athletic Hall of Honor" committee was established in 2015 to recognize, standardize and ensure the accuracy of athletic achievements within Decatur ISD. The committee includes Bobby Actkinson, Joey Christian,  Jill Eder, Kasi Elder, Julie Haney, David Sherman, Jason Wren, and DISD Athletic Director Ty Lang.

Within the "Athletic Hall of Honor" will be an opportunity to nominate individuals to be inducted into our “Wall of Fame.”  The “Wall of Fame” recognizes significant contributions and achievements of student-athletes, coaches, athletic administrators, and distinguished volunteers who have brought honor and excellence to Decatur ISD.

Wall of Fame  To be eligible for induction, all individuals and team members must be of good moral character as may be determined at the discretion of the Committee.  Consideration for membership in the “Wall of Fame” shall be based on the following two categories:

(1) Individuals who graduated from DHS and achieved one or more exceptional accomplishments in the field of sports at the high school, collegiate, or professional level shall be eligible for nomination and induction into the Hall of Honor’s Wall of Fame.  Examples of exceptional accomplishments include, but are not limited to, single game, season, or career accomplishments at DHS, or achievements in the field of sports following graduation. A minimum of ten (10) years must have elapsed since the date of class graduation before individuals may be inducted into the Wall of Fame.

(2) Individuals, including non-DHS graduates, other than athletes who have made a significant contribution including time, talent, support or funding to enhance the DHS athletic program shall be eligible for nomination to and induction into the Hall of Honor’s Wall of Fame.  Candidates shall include coaches, teachers, administrators, booster club members, school patrons, or any others who support our athletic programs.  

This spring, the "Hall of Honor" Committee will meet to review nomination forms for the “Wall of Fame.”  New inductees will be announced in May at the Decatur Education Foundation Gala.
