For the past two months, a dedicated group of more than 50 neighbors, parents, and local leaders have been working behind the scenes to help chart the course for the future of Decatur ISD schools.
This dedicated Bond Planning Committee has toured the halls of McCarroll Middle School, reviewed financial data with the district’s financial advisor, and listened to your feedback to answer one vital question: How do we best set our students up for success while being responsible with every taxpayer dollar?
Now that committee is ready to take the next step in the bond planning process: a formal recommendation to the DISD Board of Trustees about whether to call for a bond election.
Mark Your Calendars: We invite the community to stay engaged as we reach these two important steps:
The Recommendation: Monday, Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. – The Committee will present its findings and recommendation to the Board of Trustees.
The Decision: Monday, Feb. 9 at 6 p.m. – The Board will vote on whether to officially call for a bond election this year.
Both meetings will take place at the DISD Administration Building (307 S. Cates St.).
