Dr. Chad Jones, superintendent of Decatur ISD, announced his retirement today effective June 30, 2024.
Dr. Jones has worked in public education for 33 years both in Oklahoma and Texas schools. He has been a biology teacher, basketball coach, assistant principal, principal, and superintendent. Dr. Jones joined Decatur ISD in the fall of 2021.
“I want to thank everyone who accepted us into the community and made us feel at home. Decatur will always hold a special place in my heart. Decatur ISD has amazing teachers and staff who are dedicated towards making a difference in the lives of their students and I’ve been honored to work alongside them. Throughout this school year, we will do everything possible to continue to build the foundation that Decatur ISD will need to be successful in the future. I am looking forward to an exciting and successful school year. Go Eagles!”
