Theater students rehearsing their play

Everyone knows that the middle school years can be full of drama. This year at McCarroll Middle School, however, the drama is being channeled into the brand new theatre arts classes.

6th graders have already studied a little theatre history and are currently working on readers theatre. They will be performing this Halloween during 1st period for the 6th grade ELA classes.

7th and 8th grade theatre is the production class. They will be working on the UIL One Act Play competition show. Their contest is on December 10th, more details to follow.

On October 20th, the theatre classes were invited to DHS to watch the high school’s production of “Into the Woods Jr.” MMS students demonstrated perfect audience etiquette, and thoroughly enjoyed the show. 6th grader Ellie Clackler was even able to support her brother, Tate, who played the Steward. Last year, as an 8th grader, Tate won an All-Star Cast medal in UIL OAP.
