DECATUR, Texas — Get ready to slick back your hair, put on your leather jacket and join the fun as Decatur High School Theatre transports audiences back to the rockin' 1950s with its high-energy production of "Grease: School Edition."
Performances will light up the stage on Thursday, Oct. 23 and Friday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m., with a special Sunday matinee on Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. in the Decatur High School auditorium. The house opens 30 minutes before curtain. With the exception of sponsorship tickets, all seats are general admission.
Tickets are just $10 for adults and $5 for students and can be purchased from cast members or at the door (cash or check to DHS-Musical).
Bursting with energy, humor and toe-tapping tunes, "Grease: School Edition" keeps all the fun-loving spirit of the original Broadway smash while being tailored for younger actors and audiences. Fans of all ages will recognize the unforgettable hits that made "Grease" a worldwide favorite, including "Summer Nights" and "We Go Together."
The talented DHS cast brings these iconic characters to life: senior T'Lee Fenoglio as Sandy, junior Barrett Campbell as Danny Zuko, senior Catherin Yurasek as Rizzo and senior Leonel Corona as Kenickie. The Pink Ladies and Burger Palace Boys are rounded out by Maggie Ballou as Frenchie, Miranda Shea as Jan, Maxine Weaver as Marty, Max Hopko as Doody, Hunter Hale as Roger and Ethan Briseno as Sonny, along with a dynamic ensemble of students.
" 'Grease' is one of those rare shows that never goes out of style," said the production's director. "Our students have poured their energy and heart into bringing this classic story to life. We can't wait to share the laughter, romance and rock 'n' roll with our community."
