We are excited to share information about the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)! NJHS recognizes 8th grade students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

To be considered for membership, students must maintain a 90 or above average in Math, Science, English, and Social Studies, complete 10 hours of community service by August 26, 2026, demonstrate strong character with no discipline referrals, and receive two teacher recommendations.

NJHS is a wonderful opportunity for students to grow as leaders, serve their community, and be recognized for their hard work. We encourage families to support their students in striving toward these goals!

If you have any questions please email Mrs. Mosley or Mrs. Pierson.

Starting this school year, students will be banned from using personal electronic devices, including cell phones and smart watches, during school hours. This affects all DISD students (including elementary, middle, and high school levels).

Devices must be "away all day" and turned off. Students cannot use their phones during class, lunch, passing period, or any other time during the school day and while on the school grounds. This is a State of Texas-mandated policy that all school districts are required to follow. The goal is to minimize distractions and promote better focus on academics.
