Shining Bright in Decatur this Holiday Season
As the calendar turns to December and holiday decorations begin to twinkle across North Texas, a special kind of warmth is spreading through Decatur: the return of the Decatur ISD Education Foundation's beloved Bright Lights campaign.
From Dec. 1 through Dec. 15, 2025, families and community members are invited to help the district glow a little brighter. This festive program offers individuals the perfect opportunity to pause and recognize the "bright lights" in their children's lives. Whether it is a teacher who sparks a love for reading, a principal who leads with compassion, or a staff member whose smile starts the day off right, this is the chance to say a meaningful "thank you."
Participating is as easy as it is heartwarming. With a $10 donation to the foundation, individuals can officially honor and nominate a Decatur ISD employee as a "Bright Light." It is a gift that gives twice: it brings joy to a deserving staff member while supporting the foundation’s mission to enhance education in the district.
Each "Bright Light" honoree will receive a festive gift and a personalized certificate featuring the donor’s name. In addition, honorees will be recognized on the DEF website, across social media channels, and in the Wise County Messenger.
This December, let’s turn up the wattage on appreciation with a special gift that reminds our educators that they are seen, valued, and cherished during the most wonderful time of the year.
