Exterior artistic rendering of what "The Nest" could potentially look like

In 1936, the Flusche brothers—Lawrence, Al, and "Coonie"—embarked on a journey that would weave their family into the fabric of Decatur. From eventually selling Minneapolis Moline tractors to showcasing brand-new Fords and later Pontiacs behind those 1945 glass windows, the Flusche Bros. Motor Company has always been a hub of innovation and local commerce.

Now, we have a chance to bring that same spirit of entrepreneurship back to life.

If the bond is passed by voters, this historic site will be transformed into The NEST (Nurturing Employment Skills & Transition) at Flusche Multipurpose CTE Space.

Imagine:

  • Culinary Arts students running a community-facing cafe.

  • Graphic Design and Marketing students getting hands-on experience in branding and marketing.

  • Business Entrepreneurship students managing real-world operations and accounting.

The NEST will provide our students with authentic, student-led experiences.
