My name is Jennifer Chaney and I serve as the school counselor at Young Elementary. My husband, Bryan, teaches and coaches at the Middle School and High School and we are PROUD to be Decatur Eagles! We have 3 children- Katelyn, Kenna, and Will and 3 silly dogs- Roxy, Leo, and Bennett. Our oldest daughter, Katelyn, graduated from Decatur High School in 2021 and now attends Texas Tech University. Our daughter, Kenna, is a senior at Decatur High School and our son, Will, is in 7th grade. This is my 23rd year in education and I am sincerely looking forward to serving your student(s) and family this school year.

At Young, we believe that every child is a unique individual who can find success.  Through the counseling program I strive to help all students develop and enhance their academic, social, career, and personal strengths to realize their full potential.
