Do you have a shelter pet? Show us your furry friend in the comments below! 🐈🐈⬛🐕🦺🦮🐕🐩
Saving animals is a community effort, and AVID is asking you to help support our local Wise County Animal Shelter.
AVID is more than a class. It’s a philosophy. It’s the idea that “effort creates ability.” While the mission of AVID is to help STUDENTS develop the skills they need to be successful in the future, the program places special emphasis on teamwork and organization. Let’s work together to give these animals a new leash on life! ❤️💚❤️💚❤️
Community service is both the AVID and Decatur way, and we’d love for you to join us in showering our furry friends with love this Christmas!

MMS staff was able to “Eat Mor Chikin” today, thanks to the generosity of Grace Fellowship and our hard working PTO. Thank you for your support, and thank you for taking the guess work out of today’s lunch plan! 😋🍽️ #12DaysofChristmas

Did you know that 846 Wise County families will receive food this year through the Live Thankfully program?
⚠️Students have until this Friday to bring items for Live Thankfully to help support these Wise County friends.⚠️
On Sunday, staff, students, and community members will meet at the MPB building by McCarroll Middle School to pack all the items collected. Thank you for supporting this great cause! L💙T

𝙒𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙘, 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙗♭! The McCarroll Middle School band was perfectly in tune as they performed their Christmas concert last night. Hats off to all our mini musicians and their fantastic directors! 🎩🥳🥁🎹🎺🎷

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas🎶🎄thanks to our fantastic Student Council volunteers. Check out our awesome Wise County Courthouse inspired decor! #tistheseasonatMMS

We’re pretty sure we made the nice list! Our PTO really knows how to spoil our teachers, and today was no exception. Thanks for the AMAZING Italian Soda Bar! 🧋😋 #12DaysofChristmas

Ever feel like an “outsider”? Our seventh grade ELA department has been reading the namesake novel written by S.E. Hinton, and students have been busy reviewing the literature elements of the novel. Our ELA teachers work hard to plan fun and interactive opportunities, ensuring there are NO MMS literature outsiders! #mmsLIT 📖📚

Didn’t get a chance to clean out your console? 🚗🪙 No worries. We’ll be collecting donations for Santa Cops once more tomorrow. Don’t miss the opportunity to CHANGE a child’s Christmas! 🎄New, unopened toys or backpacks will also be accepted to help fill our Santa Cops bag. 🎅#decaturtxsantacops

Live Thankfully is finally here! ❤️ Tomorrow is the first day of our campus competition, but we’ll be collecting food through December 9. Bring ANY donation from the approved list to your second period teacher, and the top three classes will win a PARTY! We are so thankful to Rainey Gokey, Diego Flores, and Bioleta Guevara for representing McCarroll Middle School at the Live Thankfully luncheon, and we can’t wait to kick off this amazing food drive! #livethankfully

Welcome back! The magic of the Christmas season is here, excitement is growing, and we're counting our blessings at MMS. We've got a holiday wishlist, inspired by our incredible Decatur friends and family, and we'd love for you to check it out. Change for Santa Cops will be collected on Wednesday and Thursday during lunch and in the car drop-off lines - clean out those consoles! Our Live Thankfully class competition kicks off tomorrow, and AVID is accepting animal shelter donations now.
Reminder: Tomorrow is an early release day!

Ferris Bueller NEVER would have taken a day off, had he attended McCarroll Middle School. 📚😜 Seventh grade students are showing how fun school can be, as they’re leading our attendance competition. It’s pretty exciting to be at school when dissecting frogs is part of the curriculum! Mrs. Sapp and Mrs. Goins are taking learning to a new level with this up close and personal biology lab. 🐸☠️

It may STILL be Election Week in America, but the votes have been cast and counted in the McCarroll Middle School Student Council election. The results are in, and our 2022 StuCo officers are Marley Ballard (President), Jazlyn Flores (Vice President), Hannah Sears (Treasurer), Luke Lowery (Secretary), and Daisy Flores (Historian).
We're proud to announce that Student Council is BACK, and these officers, along with their fellow Student Council members, are already hard at work. Their latest endeavor was to serve wherever needed on Veterans Day - and man, were they a HUGE help! We can't wait to see what great things this group will accomplish not only this year, but beyond. #studentleaders #ourfutureisbright

Monday begins GenTX Week, a statewide effort to ensure students have information and resources regarding post-secondary options such as college, career, and military. Students and staff are encouraged to wear college, career, or military attire. 🏫🪖🧰 #brightfutures

Please join us as we celebrate our veterans TOMORROW morning! 🇺🇸
