Mrs. Goins' 7th grade science students have been demonstrating the use of various bird beak adaptations this week. Students compared three types of beaks, determining how well each can pick up diverse pieces of food, how this affects the number of each species of bird in the next generation, and the success of each beak type. #MMScience

Phones and internet are down for DISD. Thank you for your patience.

Coach Benjamin's 6th grade STEM elective students visited the STEM Academy to present simple machine prototypes using multiple levers. Both MMS and the Enis students were engaged in the vertical engineering aligned content.

We have the best neighbors! 💙 Coach Benjamin’s sixth grade STEM students had the opportunity to present and share their scissor mechanism arms at Enis Elementary today. Students were required to build their mechanisms with claws in order to pick up a variety of shapes. 🏗️ #projectleadtheway #STEMeducation

It’s a record-breaking day, and we’re soaking in the sun! ☀️🕶️🌳#outdoorlearningfun #nowalls

New year, new us! 🥳 The first week of 2023 is in the books. Students and teachers are back to business, and we’re looking forward to the semester ahead. #lookingtowardsthefuture #makeyourmark

Many blessings to our families and friends in 2023!

It’s a beautiful day, but we’re keeping things “ugly” at McCarroll. We’ve had a fun week, capped off with Ugly Sweater Day, classroom celebrations, and even the assembly of a hallway masterpiece. The halls have been decked, carols have been sung, gifts were received (thank you PTO!), and we’re ready to wrap up this semester. Have a safe and Merry Christmas! ❤️MMS

During the severe weather Tuesday morning one of our DISD families lost their home and possessions due to tornado damage.
Let's help this family recover!
Drop off monetary donations or gift cards to any DISD campus front office.

These treble makers were #lookingsharp tonight. Mrs. Clare Yurasek and ensemble showed that choir is the ultimate team sport! 🎼🎤#lookingsharp #treblemakers

All families and community members affected by this mornings storms are in our prayers.
All DISD students who were traveling by bus have arrived safely at campuses. Buses en route sheltered at the closest campus until the threat passed. There is no known damage to district buildings. All power has been restored to DISD campuses.

Decatur is under a tornado warning per the National Weather service. Due to the fact that buses are en route schools will be opened at normal times; however, our priority is the safety of all. Please wait until weather passes to travel and stay safe.
Last Live Thankfully update: Mrs. Womble is in the lead with Coach Schneider and Mrs. Thornton close behind. (All three classes have over 500 items!) Tomorrow is the final day that donations will be accepted.

2022: The year the cougars went EXTINCT! 🏈🦅 MMS is rooting for you, Decatur Football! #weAREdecatur
