Happy Friday! These students were recognized for the Character Counts award this week! They show this month's trait of Responsibility throughout the school and always set an example for others. Way to go!

The excitement of field day was electric! It was full of laughter, cheers, and nonstop energy as kids raced, played, and celebrated together. One of the best parts of Field Day was seeing our families and community come together to cheer on and celebrate with our students. It was a great day! Have a great weekend!

Monday is International Dot Day!
International Dot Day is celebrated every year on September 15th to encourage creativity, courage, and self-expression. Inspired by Peter H. Reynolds’ book The Dot, it reminds students to “make their mark” and see where it takes them. Millions of classrooms worldwide join in through art, writing, and creative projects.

Grandfriends’ Night was a wonderful success! Our hearts were warmed by the joy of spending time with the people we love. From the smiles shared over bingo games to the conversations sparked at the book fair, this evening was filled with connection and fun. We hope it was truly a night to remember!

Starting this school year, students will be banned from using personal electronic devices, including cell phones and smart watches, during school hours. This affects all DISD students (including elementary, middle, and high school levels).

Devices must be "away all day" and turned off. Students cannot use their phones during class, lunch, passing period, or any other time during the school day and while on the school grounds. This is a State of Texas-mandated policy that all school districts are required to follow. The goal is to minimize distractions and promote better focus on academics.

The first days of school can bring big feelings—for kids and parents! Here are a few simple tips from our counselor, Mrs. Cordova, to make the first few days run smoothly!
