Decatur ISD's school campuses will be closed through Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, due to the ongoing inclement weather and poor road conditions. School events, extracurricular activities, and facility rentals will also be cancelled. Please note that Friday was previously designated as a student and staff holiday on the official DISD calendar.

We recognize that many of our students are involved in extracurricular activities. While most activities are canceled, limited exceptions may be made for specific student extracurricular activities or practices. Our administrative team is working with individual DISD staff to assess these scenarios. Any approved afternoon activities will be strictly voluntary. No student will be penalized for being unable to attend due to travel safety concerns.

Starting this school year, students will be banned from using personal electronic devices, including cell phones and smart watches, during school hours. This affects all DISD students (including elementary, middle, and high school levels).

Devices must be "away all day" and turned off. Students cannot use their phones during class, lunch, passing period, or any other time during the school day and while on the school grounds. This is a State of Texas-mandated policy that all school districts are required to follow. The goal is to minimize distractions and promote better focus on academics.

Parking & entrance for the basketball games today will be in the top parking lot. Please use the doors near auditorium entrance. The bottom entrance will be closed due to snow and ice that has accumulated on the stairs.

Route 8 students who get off on FM 2264 & CR 4010 will ride Route 23 this afternoon and will get home about 20 minutes earlier than usual. Route 8 students that get off on Brookhollow and College will get home at the same time. Route 8 students that get off on 730 N will be about 5 minutes late.
