The DHS JV and Varsity bands competed at UIL contest today in Krum. The Varsity band earned a Sweepstakes rating with ones on stage and in the sight reading room. Both bands performed exceptionally well!

On 3/3/24 at approx. 8:55pm, Decatur ISD admin. and Decatur PD were notified of a suspicious social media post possibly concerning Decatur ISD. Investigation began immediately and the post has been determined to originate from a student living in another school district. That school district's local PD is now handling the situation. Thank YOU to our watchful community for noticing and reporting suspicious activity. #weAREdecatur

DHS swimmers were recognized for their accomplishments at the UIL 4A State Swim Meet during the Feb. school board meeting!
-Johnny Albaugh- Gold in the 100 Fly and Silver in the 50 free at State. (New team records in both, first swimmer to go under 22 seconds in the 50 free in program history)
-Johnny Albaugh, Logan Fultz, Aaron Williamson, Blaze Pippen: Silver in the 200 Free relay
-Eliana Bridges
-Zoey Hall- 1st freshman swim athlete to qualify for state, 1st swim athlete to qualify all 4 years for state, 1st athlete to medal in state (she medalled last year twice)
She is graduating as the most decorated swim athlete we have ever had. She placed 4th in all 3 of her events this year!
-Kenzi Hays- Set new team records in the 200 IM and 100 Breaststroke at state
-Kady Martinez
-Caleb McKee- 1st male swim athlete to qualify for state their freshman year

Decatur ISD hosted the County Academic Network meeting where instructional leaders from surrounding school districts and ESC Region 11 met to update, collaborate and share solutions. Dr. Wooten shared a spotlight on some of the great work DISD is doing.
