It is with a heavy heart that Decatur ISD shares the passing of Rann Elementary kindergarten teacher Kim Blase. Please join us in prayers of comfort for her family, friends, students and colleagues. Services are pending. Ms. Blase’s kindness and love touched many lives, young and old. She will be dearly missed. Abuelitos Unidos is a new program that was brought about in collaboration with OWLS Activity Center specifically for Spanish-speaking senior citizens in Wise County. As of January 20, Abuelitos Unidos hosts meals and activities every Friday afternoon for seniors. So far, it is quite successful in bringing together old and new senior friends, and it keeps growing! Our Dual Language 4th grade students performed a reader's theater at the center in their language! Mrs.Alvarez helped them practice to bring the story to life and students were so excited to help fill this need in the community. Everyone loved the performance and our 4th graders received so many compliments on how well they did. We are so proud of them!
